Cause Description:
Operation Snackpacks mission is to "Nourish the body that nourishes the mind". The Backpack program discreetly provides "Chronically Hungry" children with food to take home over the weekends and out of school times. Backpacks are stocked with nutrious easy to prepare food and inconspicuously distributed to students on the last day before the weekend. In doing so, the child's nutrional, mental and overall well being needs can be met week to week. This program has been shown to increase attendance, decrease behavior problems, improve students concentration abilities and improve student academic achievement. It's hope is to reach children throughout the community and establish an effective outreach program to enrich the lives of children in need.
