TASTC is a Voice for the Animals. To rescue, nurture, and adopt animals in need is the driving force in our daily efforts to save the lives of innocent animals. TASTC is PROUD to be a no-kill shelter. A no-kill shelter is an animal shelter where animals are only euthanized if they are too sick to be treated or too aggressive to be suitable for adoption. No-kill shelters reject euthanasia as a means of population control. The Animal Shelter of Texas County has assisted in over 1,000 pet rescues and adoptions. We have been able to complete this by placing homeless animals in foster homes, using our resources with Petfinder and other websites, and working closely with our local veterinarians. In July 2008 we have completed our goal of opening the doors of our newly built shelter providing homes to dogs and cats.
