Cause Description:
HAWC is a non-profit, strictly volunteer, rescue organization (mainly horses and ponies) whose purpose is the prevention of cruelty to hooved animals from abuse, neglect or other means, through education, investigation, foster home placement and adoption. We are incorporated in the state of Pennsylvania and our investigating officers have completed the state mandated training required for all humane police officers in Pennsylvania. All adoptive homes are thoroughly investigted prior to adoption and monitored to ensure that the animals are receiving proper care. An adoption donation is required per animal to help defray the cost of rehabilitation. We receive no funding of any kind, so your donation to HAWC will help rescue a neglected or abused horse or pony.
