Founded in 1879, the YMCA of the East Bay’s mission is to build strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. YMCA activities include camping, child development, literacy enrichment, teen prevention programs, sports and recreation, Youth and Government, wellness and physical fitness. With a variety of programs and services reaching almost 32,000 people including 18,000 children and youth, the YMCA of the East Bay operates eight permanent locations, three camping facilities, and over 67 child care centers and after-school programs throughout and beyond our service area of Contra Costa and Alameda counties.
