The New England School of Acupuncture (NESA), founded in 1975, was the first acupuncture school in the United States and remains one of the most prestigious academic institutions in the field. NESA offers Master's degree programs in acupuncture and Oriental medicine as well as a dual program with Tufts University School of Medicine. NESA offers extensive continuing education programs for acupuncturists, other health professionals and the general public. NESA provides thousands of free or low-cost treatments annually to patients not otherwise able to afford acupuncture at its student clinic and satellite clinics around the Boston area.
