Cause Description:
LLS is a national organization whose mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. The South Texas Chapter office is located in San Antonio and covers 48 counties. A master's level social worker is on site to counsel patients and provide emotional support to blood cancer patients. Educational materials, support groups and financial assistance are also offered. In addition to funding research and providing assistance to patients, our chapter has several fundaising campaigns to support our mission. Team In Training, the Light the Night Walk, Pennies for Patients, ParTee Fore a Cure and Man and Woman of the Year are all events in which volunteers can participate.
