Founded in 1977, Wu Yee Children’s Services is a nonprofit family and children’s services agency. Its mission is to create a nurturing environment for children and their families by advocating on their behalf, empowering parents and providing linguistically and culturally appropriate services. Low-income, limited-English-speaking recent immigrants comprise the majority of Wu Yee’s clients. Clients, who are frequently both new immigrants and new parents, are reliant on Wu Yee’s support and child care services for their families’ well-being. The name “Wu Yee” is a Cantonese phrase that means “protecting and caring for children.”
