Cause Description:
The Etobicoke Humane Society is an all-volunteer, registered charity, serving the Etobicoke community of Toronto since 1987. EHS doe snot allow any animal to be used for research, nor does it euthanize any animal due to lack of space, taking in only those animals for which it has shelter or foster space. The Society is not part of, nor is it funded by any other Humane Society or organization, operating only through donations and its own fund-raising activities. Cats are housed in our small shelter, with dogs housed in off-site foster homes. All animals are vet-checked,vaccinated, microchipped and, if old enough at time of adoption, spayed or neutered. Animals too young for spay/neuter at time of adoption, come with an incentive certificate for discount on future spay/neuter. The Etobicoke Humane Society provides a number of service programs, including cat and dog fostering and adoption, cruelty investigations, humane education, an office staffed 5 days per week, and a shelter that cares for animals 7 days per week. EHS is an independent affiliate of, but not fudned by the Ontario SPCA. EHS can issue charitable receipts.
