Safe Motherhood Programs is a research, training, and technical assistance organization of the Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health, Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences, University of California, San Francisco, which is a non-profit organization. The mission of the Safe Motherhood Program is to prevent maternal deaths by promoting women's health and human rights. Currently underway are research and implementation projects on a first-aid device called the LifeWrap. This device saves the lives of women suffering from complications of pregnancy and childbirth in developing countries.
