Cause Description:
Patrick Taylor was a successful businessman asked to offer a commencement speech at his former inner-city school. He had prepared a speech but when he arrived he was overwhelmed with the desire to DO SOMETHING for them. He dropped his speech and made the kids an incredible offer: " If you will stay in school, don't get arrested, girls don't get pregnant and maintain a B average. I will pay for your college educations!" They were living in an area where most didn't dare dream of making it to college! Yet all but one of them made it! It is a shining example of how one person with vision can make a difference! Patrick Taylor kept his promise to these kids but eventually went bankrupt due to a downturn in his business. We believe that with public support, this dream can be rekindled! We have always been inspired by this story and hoped to someday create and fund an organization like this ourselves. We have not been able to do that yet.
