The Jewish Foundation for the Righteous (JFR) provides monthly financial assistance to non Jews who risked their lives to save Jews during the Holocaust. It is also committed to educating generations to come about their extraordinary acts of courage and their legacy for the future - that one person can make a difference. Founded in 1986, by Rabbi Harold M. Schulweis, the Foundation, which began supporting 8 rescuers in 1989, today provides monthly assistance to almost 1,700 non-Jews in 29 countries, and is developing an education program for teachers, covering the Holocaust and the moral courage of the rescuers.
