All-volunteer AIDS advocacy, education and awareness organization. Has produced ultra marathon events with AIDS awareness and education component - 1)The American Run for the End of AIDS, the founding event which was a 9,000 mile solo run around the U.S. in 1986-87; 2)The Rainbow Run for the End of AIDS, another 1,000 mile solo run in 1990; The Rainbow Roll for the End of AIDS, a team of six in-line skaters in 1994; & The International Rainbow Memorial Run, a series of runs & rallies in 1998. Produces annual World AIDS Day rally & candlelight march for New York City area participants. Has been petitioning to the U.S. Postal Service to re-issue an AIDS awareness postage stamp since 1995. Has raised funds for various local and national organizations since its inception in 1987.
