Cause Description:
Students Helping Street Kids International is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that brings global education and community service together. Students, elementary through university level, "adopt" street children in Brazil and Tanzania, funding scholarships which enable them to attend school in their own communities. The sponsoring students follow the "adopted" children's progress throughout their education. The steet kids receive the scholarships until they graduate from high school, profoundly and forever changing their lives. The program fosters cross-cultual exchange, social awareness, partnering with local businesses, and community service.
