The Portland Gay Men's Chorus (PGMC) provides eclectic choral performances that honor and uplift the gay community and affirm the worth of all people. Founded in 1980 the chorus has over 120 singing members. An active partner in the regional arts, PGMC provides an open, supportive environment for a diverse and committed family of members and supporters. Community outreach is an important part of our work. Using music as a medium to address philosophical and social barriers, the Chorus' concerts are powerful tools in the promotion of our mission. In 2007 Portland State University named PGMC an Urban Pioneer recognizing the important role PGMC has played in improving the lives of all Oregonians.
