Cause Description:
The Lake Drive Foundation, a 501(c)(3) corporation, was established in 1996 to raise funds for The Sound Start Early Intervention Program for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Babies. Since the program's inception, Sound Start has helped more than 1,000 babies and toddlers with hearing loss from throughout Northern and Central New Jersey establish the communication skills they need for a lifetime of learning. Under the auspices of The Lake Drive School, The Sound Start Program provides deaf and hard of hearing children and their families the critical support and comprehensive educational and therapeutic services they need during the first three years of life to realize their full potential. State funding covers only a portion of the comprehensive services babies and toddlers with hearing loss need to achieve.
