Friends of Pets is a newly approved non-profit organization made up of a few dedicated individuals in our communities who are serious about rescuing neglected and abused dogs and cats. Our goal is to promote and assist with funding for spay and neuter, medical treatment of injured/abused companion animals, foster care and finally adoption to loving forever homes. We serve about a 200+ square mile radius in a rural and isolated part of the Nebraska Panhandle in which there is no other services available for these friends of ours. Our long-term goal is to build or renovate an existing building for a shelter in which to house, care for and socialize dogs and cats until we can find suitable homes for them. So far, we are a force of 6 individuals in three counties that have volunteered our time, hearts and pocketbooks to provide these services.
