Cause Description:
The Ford County Humane Society was started in 1993 by a group of concerned individuals to improve conditions at our local animal shelter. We continue to be a group of all volunteers who foster animals, work at the weekly Adopt-A-Pet and do education and fund raising activities. There is a membership of about 150 single or family members. Currently the Humane Society is remodeling a recently purchased facility at 800 Avenue P in Dodge City, KS. We board our animals, place them in foster homes or show them for their owners while they continue to live at home. The Humane Society and it's foster homes are licensed by the State of Kansas Animal Health Department. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) agency. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law. Since our inception we have found homes for over 2,500 pets and have assisted in the cost of spaying and neutering thousands of animals in our area. This is all made possible by the generosity of our volunteers and donors who give their time and money to help homeless animals in our catchment area.
