Preservation Kentucky, Inc. is a statewide organization dedicated to the preservation of Kentucky's historic resources through advocacy and education. Programs include a yearly student essay contest and the Rural Heritage Development Initiative, a national pilot program working to use historic places to revitalize rural economies. Additionally, PK works to educate public officials regarding preservation sensative policies.
