Cause Description:
The SFNOW Education Fund is the nonprofit, tax-exempt arm of the local chapter of the National Organization for Women with the purpose of education and empowering Bay Area women, girls, and the general public on issues affecting women and girls. The Education Fund concentrates on advancing understanding of issues affecting women and girls through sponsored projects -- including the annual Women's History Month Poster and Essay Contest in the San Francisco Public Schools and the Girls Figure In program where volunteers discuss issues such as body image, self-esteem and the media's portrayal of girls with high school students.
