Cause Description:
Montessori Phoenix Projects' mission is to bring Montessori to public school systems worldwide by providing quality and sustainable teacher education to adolescents and adults living in resource-limited and opportunity-deprived communities. MPP offers a mini course, Nature of Nurture, as a Montessori teacher prep course to orphanage workers, community members, childcare workers, teachers, and administrators which results in participants' transformation to a learner-centered point of view. Results include the ability to create a learning environment, invent meaningful learning activities, possess a real commitment to each learner (including difficult cases), and a system for pursuing and manifesting academic programs when none are otherwise available. The Nature of Nurture course is included in all Montessori Phoenix Projects courses. Funding permits course production. All funds are used toward either ongoing or new courses. All courses are sustainable through a grassroots system, thus, each participant becomes a course leader as well as educational practitioner and childcare provider.
