Founded in 1834 and affiliated with the Episcopal Church, the Seamens Church Institute (SCI) is the largest, most comprehensive mariners' service agency in North America. Annually, SCI serves tens of thousands of mariners on the East and West Coasts as well as along the nation's inland waterways system through pastoral care, maritime education and legal advocacy.
