Cause Description:
The Warming House Youth Center provides a safe, supervised, and substance-free atmosphere where teen ownership and decision-making opportunities thrive. Our trained staff encourages growth and acceptance, promotes communication, and helps develop the skills of high school aged teens. The Warming House Youth Center is open to high school aged teens five days per week, two shifts per day. Teens are welcome to come and go as they please, and to use the Center in whatever way best suits them. Whether playing pool, painting the walls, or chatting on the couch, teens build healthy relationships with staff and peers. Warming House programs meet teens' expressed needs and interests, and encourage them to explore and express themselves creatively. The Warming House is a safe and substance-free environment where teens have ownership and decision-making opportunities. Most activities are chosen by the teens. The Center is a non profit agency governed by a board of directors and staffed by paid professionals and volunteer student interns.
