The Burn Institute is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing the number of burn injuries and deaths in San Diego and Imperial counties. Founded in 1972, the Burn Institute funds vital burn research and treatment, reaches thousands of children and adults each year with fire and burn prevention education, and conducts burn survivor support programs such as the Camp Beyond the Scars for children recovering from severe burn injuries.
