The MSBF Coalition assists physicians, nurses, social workers,nutritionists and other lactation professionals in promoting and supporting breastfeeding in Mississippi. Breastfeeding is health -promoting and disease- preventing and is recommended as the primary source of nutrition for infants in the first year of life by the American Academy of Pediatrics and other national and international groups. Mississippi has among the lowest breastfeeding rates in the United States, and so our efforts are especially important in this area.
