Cause Description:
Capital City Youth Services' (CCYS) mission is to promote the healthy development of youth and families. CCYS operates Tallahassees shelter (Someplace Else) for runaway and abused teens and offers family counseling (The Family Place) and other services at no charge to at-risk teens and their families in Leon and seven surrounding counties  Gadsden, Wakulla, Franklin, Taylor, Madison, Jefferson and Liberty. We began as a runaway shelter in 1975 and, since then, our capacity has expanded to include a full continuum of counseling and shelter services. The youth we serve are homeless, abused, chronically truant from school, beyond parental control, have run away from home or are otherwise in crisis. These kids are frantically seeking relief, and we know if they dont get help, they will likely turn to crime, drugs, violence, skipping school or fall victim to sexual predators who know how to take advantage of a kid in trouble.
