Cause Description:
LCA is a ministry of the Manahawkin Baptist Church and has served Southern Ocean County, New Jersey since 1978. In addition to our K-8 program, the Academy offers a half-day preschool for 3 and 4 year olds. Currently, 302 students from various area churches are enrolled. The primary focus of LCA is salvation in Jesus Christ and development of Christian character in each student. Additionally, there is a strong academic program with an emphasis on core disciplines: Bible, Math, Computer Lab, Science, History and Language Arts. Many specials such as Music, Art, Physical Education, Band, and Foreign Language round out this educational package. Sensitive to the needs of children, LCA also offers special education, speech therapy and other help for classified students. The Excel program is also available for students exhibiting high academic achievement.
