Cause Description:
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) trains volunteers to advocate for children in the court system due to abuse or neglect. These volunteers are appointed by a judge to provide a constant source of information to the courts and assume all activities necessary to make sure that the best interests of these child victims are met. CASA of Hopkins County was developed in 1997 through joint efforts of the Family Advocacy Centers Board of directors and the local courts. CASA of Hopkins County is one of 20+ programs in Kentucky and one of over 900 CASA programs in the United States
