Cause Description:
KRF was founded to support Songtsen’s main activities. Songtsen is an international organization focused on the rescue and preservation of Tibet’s cultural heritage and spiritual tradition. It represents more than 30 years of cultural & aid projects. Songtsen’s mission is to: 1. Help Tibetan communities find the resources they need to bring up their children in their own traditions. More specifically, to create the infrastructure needed to preserve their identity and continue the unique living traditions of Tibetan culture. 2. Preserve and make available to a Western public the oral teachings and written texts, both classical and contemporary, of Tibetan Buddhism. In addition, Songtsen provides regular support for several Tibetan monasteries, schools and institutes. Songtsen is also focused on caring for children and impoverished communities in India, Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet, providing basic necessities (education, food, & shelter). We are dedicated to re-establishing and sustaining the social and cultural life of Tibetan communities not reached by international aid – both in exile as well as in Tibet.
