Founded in 1991, the Pilipino Alumni Association of UCLAPAA seeks to bridge the gap between Pilipino students and alumni by promoting academic success, career development, and community activism. PAA provides a vehicle through which alumni may provide educational scholarship and career resources to students and establish valuable networks with other alumni professionals. PAA membership means benefits that promote our strong values… Career Development- PAA's Mentorship Program provides students the opportunity to explore career options and receive academic and professional guidance from alumni. The program also encourages students to give back as they build their own careers. As a PAA mentor, you would lend your expertise and time to a student. PAA's Networking Program strives to assist alumni with their career endeavors, helps new graduates start a career, and offers students opportunities for internships and summer jobs. Academic Success & Giving… PAA's Scholarship Program is one of our most valued endeavors. PAA awards scholarships to recognize the outstanding academic achievements, leadership, and community service of UCLA's students. Contributions to scholarships will ensure that our distinguished students prosper at UCLA. PAA’s Endowment Efforts include long term fundraising goals to establish: 1) a Scholarship endowment to perpetually guarantee scholarships to deserving students; 2) an Academic Supports endowment to support the Pilipino Studies movement at UCLA. Cultural Unity- Samahang Pilipino Cultural Night unites friends, family, and alumni in a spectacular celebration of Pilipino culture. It is an evening you won't forget, filled with great entertainment, fun, and familial unity. Community Service- PAA can be a vehicle for you to give back to our community through volunteerism and involvement in PAA, UCLA and Community activities that promote community enrichment.
