Cause Description:
For over 30 years the Kempe Children’s Center has created programs that treat abused children, trained future professionals and researched new methods to heal these innocent victims. Kempe currently hosts 11 innovative programs directed by some of the nation’s leading child abuse experts. These programs are making the future brighter for abused children. Dr. Kempe also realized practitioners and professionals needed the backing of business professionals and community activists to truly make a difference for abused children. The Kempe Children’s Foundation, an independent 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, was founded in 1976 to raise the needed funds, awareness, and engage in advocacy to create sustainable support for the work of the Kempe Children’s Center. Together in the past year, Kempe has treated over 1,270 children and families, trained over 2,483 professionals, and over 100,000 visited www.kempe.org to learn how to recognize child abuse and do something about it.
