FLA Four Legged Advocates, Inc. (FLA FLA) is a charitable organization using an innovative method with Victim Assistance Coordinators and canine partners to provide assistance to victims of sexual assault, domestic violence or other crimes. FLA Four Legged Advocates, Inc.(FLA FLA) was established as a non-profit, 501(c)3 corporation with the state of Florida. The "concept" has been forming for about five years. As we learned from personal experience, the need in our area for victim services is constantly growing. Our unique method of using advocates and therapy dog partners should enhance any services already being provided. Our unique method of partnering with trained Service and Therapy dogs is to provide comfort, encourage trust and to calm the victim at a very difficult time. Through our advocacy, accompaniment and resource referral we can promote victim empowerment, help eliminate discrimination and prejudice of the victim and foster the defense of the victim's civil rights. We will "MAKE A DIFFERENCE" by helping the victim become a SURVIVOR!
