Cause Description:
To date, almost 100 9/11 trauma survivors have attended healing retreats sponsored by the Body, Mind and Spirit Foundation. Their positive responses to the helpfulness of the experience have been overwhelming. Formed in December of 2002 as a 501 (c) (3) non-profit public charity, the Body, Mind & Spirit Foundation has ensured that these retreat programs will be available to bring a renewed sense of self, a gift of hope and an optomistic outlook to clients of mental health services that need an extra boost of motivation to progress in their healing process. In 2004, the retreat program was broadened to include a project designed to assist families of soldiers killed in Iraq.
