Cause Description:
Scenarios USA believes that by valuing youth and listening to their opinions, we can have an impact on promoting healthy relationships and lowering the rate of HIV, STD’s and pregnancy among teenagers. Scenarios USA asks teens to write stories about issues that shape their lives for the “What’s the REAL DEAL?” writing contest. In the past five years, 7,500 teens have responded with raw, honest and revealing insights. They’ve written about peer pressure, body image, pregnancy scares, self-esteem, friendship and commitment. Twelve of these stories have been made into high-quality short films in partnership with the teen writers and some of Hollywood’s finest filmmakers. Scenarios films are used nationwide in schools and community groups, screened at film festivals, streamed on the internet and aired on cable stations. They are award winning films which get teens talking about their lives, their choices and their world.
