Children for Children

New York, New York

Cause Description:
Children for Children Foundation—a New York not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization founded by concerned parents in 1996 (www.childrenforchildren.org)--works to foster community involvement and social responsibility in young people through programs that involve youth in volunteering and giving from an early age. CFC’s primary giving focus is on placing resources in schools serving some of NYC’s most underserved communities. Annually, CFC’s free programs generate thousands of volunteer hours and provide hundreds of children and families the opportunity to experience the empowerment and joy of helping others. CFC has awarded over $1,000,000 of needed resources to hundreds of underserved NYC schools, as well as helped place approximately 500,000 new and gently used books into the hands of grateful teachers for their students. In addition, CFC works with its grant schools, encouraging them to continue the cycle of giving by involving their students in service projects.
