Cause Description:
SELR is a 501C3 non-profit organization incorporated in North Carolina. Our mission is to protect the quality of life and improve the well being of abused, neglected, unwanted and behaviorally unmanageable llamas through prevention, education, intervention, placement and lifelong care. SELR assists new llama owners by providing information and finding local "mentors" to help with basic care. In situations where the owners are not interested in keeping the llamas, we take them in. In abuse cases we sometimes work with local law enforcement and animal control authorities. SELR also works closely with Indian Creek Sanctuary and Southwest Llama Rescue.
