Federated Conservationists of Westchester County, Inc. was founded in 1965 as a non-profit coalition of individuals and organizations dedicated to preserving and protecting Westchester's natural and historic resources. FCWC strives to achieve its mission through local advocacy initiatives, roundtables, publication of our newspaper, the "Westchester Environment", work with high school students participating in our "Westchester Environment Student Council", and conferences on such issues as stormwater, air quality and transportation. It is through these efforts that we reach out to approximately 2,400 people per year. FCWC is engaged in local initiatives as we strive to promote strong support for environmental protection and preservation in Westchester County. We educate citizens, public officials, legislators and the business community about environmental issues and how they relate to public health, quality of life, the economy, and our natural resources. FCWC promotes environmentally sound policies for transportation and energy conservation, solid and toxic waste management, biodiversity, habitat and historic site preservation, and air and water pollution control. We also support environmentally sustainable development and land use policies. Together, we can make a difference!
