Cause Description:
The Tancredi Colon Cancer Prevention Foundation is a National Heritage Foundation and was founded in May, 2004, by Jim Tancredi. Both of Jim's parents were previously diagnosed with colon cancer, and his mother passed away on May 19, 2004, from complications of the disease. The mission of the Foundation is to promote appropriate colorectal cancer screening methods to everyone and to continually stress the importance of colorectal cancer prevention through early detection measures. It is the foundation's intent to promote the value of early detection screenings through a variety of annual fundraisers including, but not limited to, 5K run/walk races, Christmas tree memoriam lighting ceremonies, memorabilia auctions, and a host of other valuable activities. Further, it is the Foundation’s intent to promote this valuable information not just on the local level, but rather at national and international levels.
