Cause Description:
Yonkers Animal Shelter Volunteers work to promote adoptions from the city shelter, walk and socialize dogs and cats, connect with rescue organizations and support needs at the shelter by fundraising, and obtaining donations. Volunteers also work at the shelter to address facility needs, and we work to provide volunteers with basic training skills such as obedience training, to improve the adoptability of dogs at the shelter. Cats are socialized by volunteers through one on one contact. We also maintain a website and feature a dog and cat weekly on a local cable news channel, channel 12. See pets at Yonkers.p
