Cause Description:
CornerHouse was founded in 1989 as a private, non-profit organization in public-private partnership with the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office, local law enforcement and child protection agencies and medical providers. The mission of CornerHouse is to assess suspected child sexual abuse, to coordinate forensic interview services and to provide training for other professionals. CornerHouse conducts forensic interviews, non-emergency medical examinations and professional training. Services aim to reduce trauma to children and their families and to ensure the rights of those accused of abuse. CornerHouse minimizes multiple interviews of children and coordinates the response of multidisciplinary professionals in a child friendly environment.
