our committee at the church has been visiting and raising funds for amatitan, a desperately poor rural community of about 1,100 people in nicaragua. our goal is to improve living conditions. in three years, the group has brought its first clean drinking water, funded microloans, provided school scholarships and supplies, built several homes and a church, provided transportation, and paid for drugs. our immediate goals include expanding water service, building a health clinic and more homes, and providing electricity.
