Cause Description:
The Refugee Women's Network, Inc. (RWN) is a US based national grassroots organization dedicated to address the special needs of refugee women through leadership training, education and advocacy. RWN is governed by refugee women representatives of diverse communities resettled in the United States. Programs include: 1. Leadership Training -- serving over 200 women since 1995 who have in turn served over 2000 refugee and immigrant communities across the US. 2. Microenterprise and Microloans -- helping women to start or expand their own businesses, with a success rate of 35%, compared to the national average of 25%. 3. Health Promoters Training -- educating women to be lay health educators and liaisons between their communities and the health care system. 4. Advocacy -- ensuring that the needs and voices of refugee and immigrant women are heard at the local, national, and international levels.
