Health & Habitat is a small non-profit, run by volunteers who give countless hours to protecting an environmentally crucial rainforest preserve, at a headwaters of the Amazon River, on Rio Napo in Ecuador. If trees are cut here, the Amazon Basin will suffer permanent drought. H&H maintains an eco-lodge (Cabanas Alinahui aka Butterfly Lodge) near Tena, in Ecuador's Amazon, where researchers and visitors can visit and study the rainforest: www.butterflylodge.org, or www.ecuadorexplorer.com/alinahui.
