Cause Description:
Jewish Family Service provides counseling and social services to children, adults and families on a sliding fee scale, non-sectarian basis. Individual and family counseling with therapists who specialize in children, adolescents, adults, couples and older adults. Counseling available on a sliding fee scale, non-sectarian basis. Group counseling: Children Coping with Divorce; Girl Power - Self-esteem Development; Motherless Daughters; Self Nurture and Infertility; Survivors of Suicide; Interfaith Relationships. Groups available on a sliding fee scale, non-sectarian basis. Services for older adults includes Homemaker Service, Lifeline personal emergency response system, sitter referral list and case management. Services available on a sliding fee scale, non-sectarian basis. Adoption homestudies for domestic and international adoptions. Teen Life Counts - school-based suicide prevention education. Trained volunteers educate students in public, private and parochial schools throughout the greater New Orleans area on the warning signs of suicide and what to do in a suicidal crisis. Program is presented at no charge to schools.
