Cause Description:
Pacific Wildlife Project is a volunteer staffed Wildlife Rescue Organization committed to the protection of all animals living in the wild. The primary activity of this 'grass roots' Humane organization is the rescue & medical treatment of injured wildlife. The Project accepts all species (without predjudice) for care and specializes in the care of Pelicans and other seabirds. Pacific Wildlife Project has rescued and treated more pelicans than any facility worldwide and set protocols for crisis response in endangered species disease outbreaks. Project Education programs teach students, animal handlers, agencies and pre-veterinary candidates in wildlife care and treatment protocols. Lobby efforts have been successful in the creation of legislation protecting wild species and data study research and medical publications have contributed to the scientific body of knowledge towards helping and protecting wildlife. Pacific Wildlife Project has received numerous awards and been featured in national publications recognizing its humane activities.
