Cause Description:
"HappieHats!" is a program that I developed to brighten a sick child's day, that is going through cancer and radiation treatments or is suffering from a life-threatening illness. We fill new baseball style caps or hats with "personality" with little "happies" such as toys, stuffed animals, books, coloring books, crayons,small dolls,bouncy balls, bubbles,stamps and stationary,etc.& wrap it all up in a cellophane bag, tie it with a big yellow curly bow and smiley pinwheel...last but not least add the last "smiley touch" with a card with a "happie saying"! We just hope to brighten their day with a "HappieHat!" and a great big smile! We delivered 90 "HappieHats!" to the American Cancer Society "Camp Rainbow" this past July, 40 to our local children's hospital and 20 to Make-A-Wish for the National 2003 "Make-A-Difference" Day! Our project is listed on the site. I am supplying "HappieHats!" again this summer to "Camp Rainbow and a new one "Camp Hopewell"! Also, I will be taking monthly "HappieHats!" to Make-A-Wish. I hope to broaden my program to all hospitals in my state, so I may bring a smile to the face of many sick children!
