Special Task Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. (STID) founded in 1983, provides specially trained, professional Sign Language interpreters to facilitate communication between deaf patients and healthcare providers. The STID Program is the most comprehensive medical interpreting, and equal access program available to the Deaf community, in the Healthcare arena. Interpreting services are provided in doctor's offices, acute care hospitals, and other healthcare facilities throughout Orange County, parts of Los Angeles & San Bernardino counties. Advocacy and education on Americans with Disabilities Act. Education for medical professionals on procedures with deaf and hard of hearing patients.
