Cause Description:
Established in 1998, the Aquarium of the Pacific, is a private, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization committed to “…instilling a sense of wonder, respect and stewardship for the Pacific Ocean, its inhabitants and ecosystems.” A world-class institution, the 156,000-square-foot Aquarium houses 18 major habitats and 31 smaller exhibits that focus on the vital and endangered ecosystems of the Northern Pacific, Tropical Pacific, and Southern California/Baja. More than 12,000 ocean animals representing 550 species reside at the Aquarium. With highly articulated habitats that range in size from 5,000 to 350,000 gallons, a wide array of hands-on discovery stations for children, and exciting public presentations, the Aquarium provides an extraordinary introduction to Pacific life.
