The State of Xel Sikaan is a 501(c)(3) corporation focused on community development at all levels - from local to international. A particular interest is helping small island developing states and less developed countries because of the particularly difficult issues they face in achieving socioeconomic viability. As part of its bigger mission, SXS also focuses on leadership development for college-aged youth through college chapters of Sigma Xi Sigma, and it promotes cross-cultural understanding and tolerance by encouraging people to become "citizens."
