Liver Shunt is a disease that affects a lot of breeds of dogs. Buyers aren't aware of it until they have bonded to the dog. Our main goal is to raise money to find the DNA marker for this disease. Our Founder, Terri Shumsky, has passed away but, we, at The Original Terri Shumsky Fanny Mae Liver Shunt Fund, are working hard to keep her dream alive. We are close to setting up a Permanent Foundation that will take our donations and give grants to any researcher who are close to finding that elusive DNA marker. Terri's belief was to find a tool that responsible breeders could use to make wise decisions in their breeding programs.
