CHARITABLE, TAX EXEMPT FUND SET UP FOR A 25 YEAR OLD MAN WHO IS DYING FROM CYSTIC FIBROSIS AND IS IN DESPERATE NEED OF A DOUBLE LUNG TRANSPLANT. HE WILL BE HAVING THIS LIFE SAVING SURGERY AT MGH IN MARCH. TWO PEOPLE HAVE STEPPED FORWARD TO DONATE A LOBE OF LUNG TO GIVE JIM A SECOND CHANCE AT LIFE, AND WE HAVE GIVEN OUR PROMISE THAT IF A DONOR IS WILLING TO GIVE A PART OF THEIR OWN BODY TO SAVE JIM'S LIFE, THAT THEY WILL NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR ANY MEDICAL EXPENSES. WE WILL BE PROVIDING THEIR LOSS OF INCOME FOR 8 WEEKS, THEIR INSURANCE PREMIUMS, AND ANY OTHER EXPENSES INCURRED AS A RESULT OF THE SURGERY. THE FUND WILL ALSO COVER ANY MEDICAL EXPENSES NOT COVERED BY HEALTH INSURANCE.
